He did feed the bear. It's even in the movie: Changing the river's flow=feeding the bear. There were more obvious examples than that in the footage that Herzog didn't show, though.

Nowhere does Bhav say that he listened to the audio. He's describing it from the available transcripts, the same transcripts that people on this site used to make a very convincing fake.

Many of the comments I read are not debating the political or ethical issues of what Tim did! Most are simply ridiculing a dead man. And to those comments I stand by what I originally posted - that such ridicule is down to the fact that Tim was a bit of an oddball, not because of the issues you've raised, regardless of whether they are correct or not.

@blackmanorigins he fed all those cute little foxes that "loved him so much" that they followed him everywhere. He was feeding them, and they hung around him because he was a food source. Why would he stop there? He may have fed the bears too.

@toboesnumber1fan you think what happened to him in the end made the way he died worthwhile? He was screaming for that girl to help him, to find something to fight the bear off - if they had a gun, he'd have been begging for her to shoot the bear. In the face of death, NO ONE wants to die, for any reason. Strange, but in most attacks, people go in to shock and don't feel a thing - in his case, he was very aware and in a lot of pain up until the very end. I doubt he felt it was worth it.

Even if people have taken risks to get photographs, they didn't push it till it killed them, or exploit the situation for shameless self promotion - or we would know who they are, as everyone knows who treadwell is. I mean was.

Yes, what you've written is how it happened. The only people that Tim protected the bear from was anyone else who could profit off of them in the way that he was. He wanted the monopoly.

When I was up this fall I heard a great story about some local Aboriginal kids setting off bear charges around TIm's camp lol. I can't vouch for it's validity but it was told well and made me laugh.

There are ethical ways of obtaining wildlife footage in a study. Treadwell not only violated these ethics he also sabotaged the abilities of others to do their job and led to the deaths of 11 bear and counting by feeding them and removing their fear of man.

I profit off the wildlife that I study, sure, but I also keep my distance and have as a little impact on the environment that I study as I can. I also don't lie to get my funding like Treadwell did.
