This video shows some machinery used in the making of artist paint juxtiposed with the paintings of Gianni Maimeri, the painter who created this factory in 1923.
He started to make his own paint so that he could have better colors to work with in his art.

It makes me hungry to make a color I've seen but once. And, being poor, am likely not to see again. You go get it, please....
Go to San Francisco, go to the north side of the bay and up on the bluffs there is a brown of the mountain.
Quite different than other browns.
