  • there is absolutely zero BEAUTY in this voice!!!!!! what a lazyyyyyy pallettttt!!!!! ugly

  • So nice to hear her sing again... This woman was my voice instructor in college and I stumbled upon this video truly by accident. :-D Although my days of singing are long past, her voice seems to only grow and become more magnificent in time.

  • Handel wrote different versions of many of the arias to suit whatever singers he had available. I was happy to find this on youtube as my conductor has asked me to sing the mezzo version this year and I'd never heard it before, but Laurie sounds more like a contralto and really slows the tempo down right from her first measure. I've been searching but can't find another example, does anyone know of one?

  • as a fellow MEZZO, I am so happy to find this version on youtube!! Mezzo's don't get the respect we deserve!!! <3 Great job!

  • Not wanting to seem critical, but it is more beautiful in the soprano arrangement.

  • You're right.

It is my opinion. Some can love it..

  • That's your opinion. Some like it this way, some like it like you do. We are all entitled to our opinions. However, we go wrong when we automatically deem it one way, all because of our own personal preference, without realizing that the world does not revolve around our personal opinions.

  • I love mezzo voices.

  • But I didn't like it.. It is much nicer with soprano tones..

  • Interesting to hear this setting. A first for me.
