Written by Ritchie Pickett from the 1984 classic 'Gone For Water' by Ritchie Pickett and the Inlaws. This performance from 2001 or 2002 at the Java Jive Cafe, Ponsonby, Auckland. Alan Badger on bass, Dale O'Sullivan on drums.
The pranks (jamming gapefruit on my wrought iron fence), the humour, walking around all day with a cricket ball in his hand tweaking the seam, putting his Yamaha amp onto max. and jamming with his gat on a sunday morning...7am. Leaving his outside light on all night...I'm sure it was 400 watts. Complaining that I was over-feeding Mrs Ratatui Furry Fuck Face (his cat) with trout trimmings. Oh yes, ya ol' bugger, we still miss you. It was never dull living next to Ritchie.
Of all the ways to go, Ritchie finally went peacefully and well - may he remain at peace always. He will be missed by many, and he will always be a very, very hard act to follow....
