I'm not American, but as far as I can tell, the USA is a democracy, so surely people that are decended from those who were slaves can lay down their weapons now, and instead embrace 'white people'? I believe that if we all strive (not just the U.S.A) to stop 'jumping' at each misjudged comment, misplaced movement, and just accept each other. I know that in the real world, this couldn't happen, at least not immeadiately. But, as the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race.
