Bill Abel has a way of getting totally into the true spirit of deep Blues. Mentored by the Belzoni, MS bluesman, Paul "Wine" Jones, Abel went on to play with the likes of Honeyboy Edwards, Henry Townsend, George Brock, Sam Carr, Odell Harris & T-Model Ford. He plays on the street at festivals all around the Delta and has just traveled to Europe as this CD was released.
Featuring 16 cuts, the CD is a wealth of styles. From Deep country Blues to Hill Country styles, Abel plays like a man possessed, banging away (but in a good way) on his guitar and kick drum, kick snare & hi hat. There is plenty of true energy in Bill's playing. He writes constantly, playing this music as it has been (and still is) played in the Delta. We are lucky to have him.
