@robm425 I dont live in NY so I must conclude that as true. However in most other states the troopers are trained in visual estimation. Most of the time they either choose/must use radar to confirm the speed. I see what you mean by rarely using radar though.

Nice s70 man! My friend just got me into this and I got a Beltronics STi-R. I have a 2006 S60R and currently have a hole cut out of my grille for the antenna. I got my first Ka warning from a cop that was across campus on the same road which is on a hill so I couldn't even see him for at least 45 seconds. It was coming in strong too!

@spooks916 Yea my lawyer saved me I was gonna lose my license
but if the cops laser is jammed wont they get suspicious and pull you over and check to see if you have a jammer?

@label1177 They could but most will have no clue they are being jammed as the proper way to operate the jammer is Slow down immediately once the jammer alerts and when you are at the posted speed limit turn the jammer off to let the officer get a speed reading on your vehicle.

K so I just started looking into these things. So correct me if Im wrong. Radar jammers dont work, laser jammers do. I understand if you have a laser jammer, your good from cops. But, what happens if the cop is using a radar gun? Are you pretty much screwed?

If a cop has a radar gun I am screwed, I have a radar detector to try and protect me alittle from the radar guns.
But radar now having the ability to be turned on and off for 1-3seconds only when they see a speeding car so you are screwed. I usually let a car speed in front of me so they get shot with radar and then I can slow down

@robm425 You have a V1. Its a great detector. There IS a way to detect instant on radar. There must be a car or two in front. The V1 will pick up a weak signal and then lose it. It might do this again with another car. If it does, get legal immediately. As soon as it suddenly goes full alert you're screwed if your over the limit. The weak alerts are actually scatter from the beam that is on the cars in front. The radar beam is wide and much easier to pick up scatter than a laser beam.

@ElectronicsRepair582 I know the trick to instant-on radar but there are people with radar detectors which like to lead the pack at elevated speed. What about for when you can't find a rabbit? The NY Troopers are highly trainned in visual estimation its rare they bother to even turn their radar on unless a person is going over 80.
Instant-on is instant death as for how i drive rabbits are a rare thing to me
