@blakeplaysbass, a short scale bass can be used for those with smaller hands where reaches on a 34" neck are more challenging.
Newer players, young and old alike, sometimes find it easier to move on an ss bass. Then there are those of us who enjoy the speed of a short scale because you can get around so much faster.
Probably my biggest challenge is the typically tight string spacing at the bridge. My Hofner bass is at about 1 3/4", which is not much. I bump into the next string by accident.

i would buy twenty of them if they got rid of the new headstock

i must admit, im perplexed. what purpose (exactly) does a short scale bass serve. is it for little kids? is it basically a toy for anyone under age 10?? im quite confused to be perfectly honest with you.

@notrombones HI, Did you buy that bass package and was it any good ? I am a beginner and looking for a short scale base package. Any info. would be appreciated. Thanks

Another nut shot...lol

What's up with the bridge saddles they are positioned very strangely!
Do you have extra thick A and G strings ?
-
@arrisfilms No, that is called fretting out; where the string hits a higher fret and can't vibrate. Dead spots are a bit more in depth, but you'll know it when you hear it. It's easier to notice this on a higher pitched string like the G on a bass or a lower pitched string on guitars like the E and A and usually right around the 3rd to 5th fret. It's a note that has no lower fundamentals and decays really fast because the frequency is being sapped. You may want to google the term.

@Sungodv what's a deadspot? Is it when you press on a fret and it doesn't make any noise? Cause I had guitar like that with poor frets so I got my dad to level them for me and finish :P

I had two SX short scale basses and both had dead spots in the typical places that are on so many basses, G string 5th-ish fret.
Sold 'em both.

@XrisikosTonPernei666 i own two of these rondo basses. i have a short scale one that is kinda weak but the jazz bass clone (full scale) sounds REALLY good.
is this bass fretless?

I just checked their website, and it looks like they've renamed their basses. It's now called an SX Ursa 2 JR RN Short Scale. As of right now, it's the very first one on the bass page. It seems they only offer it in black and red now, and they've redesigned the headstock to look a little less Fender-y, but other than that it looks like the same bass.

Does it come in left handed?

@LittleBeachPunk
I couldn't tell ya. You'd have to check the Rondo website. I'm left-handed myself, and I've always played right-handed instruments. I actually think it's easier that way--I get to use my left hand to do the fretting, which is probably the hardest part for beginners. If you're just starting out, I'd recommend learning on a right handed instrument.
