yepper. when i saw her the night she was appointed, i KNEW they were gonna have to make her over. she did not look the part for the conservative ticket. she needed to look more polished. and by the next night, she was. hair, makeup, and clothes. it's part of life.

They're not dressing her up to sell her to the average American. They need to sell her to the rich folks. The Republican Party is made up of Rich folks who run everything, and cultural conservatives who the Rich folks manipulate into carrying their water. Palin is one of the second group. This makes "the base" very happy, but the rich folks are probably a little suspicious cause she's not one of them. So they're dressing her to look like one of them, to calm their fears.

Clinton did balance the budget, you know. He didn't pay of the debt, but ending the deficit spending was a good start.

I'm an Obama supporter, but I think this is a non-issue, and it affirms Sarah Palin's middle class image that the GOP has to spend all this money to make her look acceptable to the money interests in the party. If she was a rich fashionista bitch, they wouldn't have to make the investment, cause she'd already have the designer clothes. It's as legitimate a campaign expense as TV attack ads.
