This is a follow up video on a technique to cut wine and beer bottles I learned from Watching Dan Rojas, of the Green Power Science You Tube Channel. In this video I show you how to cut the bottle once a score line is made around the bottles circumference with a glass cutter. Watch the Video of how I made the score line in the beer bottle. The link is in the beginning of this video.

  • To get the edge smooth you need to sand it with sandpaper. This is not easy and takes time to get right. Another problem is the glass dust that is produced while sanding. Breathing glass dust can cause a serious lung disease called Silicosis, which can be deadly. Proper caution needs to be used while sanding glass. I am no expert but a respirator and some sort of inclosure need to be used while sanding to contain the dust.

  • How do you get the edge to be smooth and uniform after the break? I've tried a Dremel and it doesn't smooth it enough.

  • @airbreath That's what I have been doing an I almost always get a clean cut.

  • I was going to say dipping it would be more even

  • now tap under the score.

  • Buddy just tap it.

  • I can see ur dog in the background

  • use a small torch and a turntable and dont ever let the heat be on one spot of the glass for more than 1/10 of a second. With a flame u can get a much more precise area of heat rather than having the water heat a large area of the glass. This will make your breaks much more successful and accurate. hope i was a little help

  • As you have 2 sinks you could have the boiling water in one and cold in the other and just dip it in.
