  • nah, I prefer Keating.

  • Man Keating was an absolute legend. He had all the bases covered for a great PM; he ripped into the opposition in parliament with avengeance, he made the tough decisions for the good of the country, even if they were unpopular, and most importantly he was a humble statesman. He didn't like Hawke, but as seen here he did the honourable thing.

  • my two favorite leaders of Australia were Keating & Howard

  • Despite their public feud Hawke and Keating were the best political partnership in Australian history.

It's worth pointing out that Hawke and Keating were at least able to have dinner together after what happened in 1991. Howard never once invited Costello to Kirribilli during his time in government except for one time after the 2007 election defeat which Costello declined.

  • @ruddsadudd Rudd is the best pm? are you joking or are you actually stupid? Whitlam, Keating, and Howard make Rudd look like an insect... which he is.

  • Keating and Hawke are old foes and will always clash, but deep down i think Keating really looked up to Bob.

  • Keating you should have been honest and said what a germ Hawke really was and is.

  • idiot comment from an idiot person.

  • Arrogant stooge who left us in debt. Mr Banana Republic, talking about the recession we had to have...JOHNNY HOWARD FOR LYF! ....

  • A bad idea is a bad idea isn't it? It was shown to be a teribble plan in the 1980s when Keating proposed it, so why would he support it in 1993?

Politics is often a "toss," but this particular example does not prove your point.
