Adult amphipod hunting on tank glass and macro algae. Fascinating marine creatures make a great addition to any marine aquarium. 3-10mm long and very agile. Amphipods are fun to watch and fun to feed. Salt water, heater, food, 2 gallon+ aquarium and a simple filter is all you need to watch these guys go. We make aquaculture easy for anyone.

  • Very good!!! I am happy to hear about your success. Most people miss the tall tale sign that habitat is the key to breeding amphipods. I am happy to hear you recognized that habitat is a critical point to making amphipods and similar animals happy. Congrats my friend!, carry on! :)

  • I found a few of these living on my live rock, but they only come out at night.

  • i introduced amphipods in my refugium with a ball of chaetomorpha macro-algae about 4 months ago and now they have multiplied significantly not only in my refugium but my display tank as well. was wondering if there were ways i could trap the amphipods in my display tank and save them to feed directly to my scooter blenny (dragonet) who sleeps at night and doesn't get to see the hundreds of amphipods that come out in the darkness.

  • 77 F is usually good :)
