  • Great playing. Don't worry about the few minir slips. We all do that. Overall fantastic. Next time arrange for a better sound recording to do justice to the fine playing and hard work!

  • Cheers! Thanks!

  • Please consider the poor sound quality of you tube uploads people! There is NOTHING wrong with the Kawai RX6! It is a awesome grand piano! I am a pianist and teacher having played for some 40 years and I prefer the RX6 to the Steinway period! The Steinway action feels "woody" and hard. The Kawai Millennium 3 action feels WONDERFUL to play. The tone of the two pianos (both 7ft grands) is to my liking, however the Kawai is WARMER and more sonorous. Go try out the RX6 - it is awesome!

  • ...I own a 2007 RX-3 myself, and I do like it very much indeed for its warm sound. This RX-6, however, is much older than that (so no millenium III action) and has been thoroughly worn out/bashed by countless students without being given due care - i.e never voiced/regulated.

As regards Steinways, I like them very much - when they are in pristine condition. I have played on as many beautiful, wonderful Steinways as I have terrible (and I mean seriously crap) ones. They're all different anyway

  • Loved this! I've never heard the arrangement performed by piano before. I liked when the girl messed up she smiled and kept going strong - an extremely challenging piece and you both did amazing.

  • i love this piece!!

  • @miykeey off brand piece of shite, you need your ears checked

  • She's screwing up his performace. He's playing beautifully, and she's making too many mistakes for a performace. Did she evern PRACTICE? Or, is she a substitute for the REAL accompanist? Or, is she just NERVOUS? Or is she just jealous of him and is screwing up his performace for SPITE? If this is too difficult for her, then she shouldn't have been chosen to play something over her head because she sux, and she's making the lead pianist look bad as well.

  • I have a brand new RX6 and it does have the Millenium 3 action. I am not sure of the age of the one in the video, but the sound quality is awful - pit a better quality vidoe camera was not used. The RX6 is an awesome piano with a huge bass! My tech told me it is better than the equivelent 7 ft long Steinway! I tried out the SW and mine is better! Esp the M3 action - its wonderful!!!

  • They are both playing very well indeed. He IS putting some emotion - too much emotion is not to be displayed when playing classic period music. This is the correct historical context.

  • You should see a German trying traditional Shamisen pieces, must be the same horror : ) Just different cultures

  • ...well, so I should be glad I'm not Japanese...?

...actually, I don't know why you say that...(at least) some young generation of Japanese pianists have truly wonderful artistic minds. Chinese pianists who study in China, however...

Now they are indeed as you described. But it is no wonder really - these Chinese grew up learning nothing but Chopin Etudes! No wonder that's all they can do well...
