Charlie is my 6 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy. He is so cute, I just had to make this mini documentary on him. It's a great story on how I got him too...

I volunteer at a non-profit organization to help make transitional shelters for the homeless. It's pretty cool how they make their money. They build these playhouses and action them off to the rich and powerful citizens of Southern California. These aren't just any old 2 by 4 huts with a chair in them though. They are high quality, several thousand (About 25-75 thousand) dollar playhouses. Every year, they also have a raffle house, and I am their premier ticket salesman! Last year, the theme of their raffle house was "Wahoo's Fish Tacos". It was donated and named after by a large chain restaurant owned by Wing Lam. So here I am, standing outside of the playhouse, selling tickets like mad on opening day. Then Wing comes up and watches me work for a while. He was so impressed by my work, he gave me about $250 worth of cloths form the Wahoo's warehouse. I thanked him profusely and he left. Later that month, the auction party for the playhouses was taking place. I was asked to help serve dinner to the guests, but then came one of the managers with an adorable puppy in her hands. She said that she wanted someone to hold the auction puppy for the night and encourage the bidders to bid on the puppy. As I was walking around, I noticed Wing Lam sitting in the audience. I walked over to him and showed him the puppy, and told him he should bid on it. (By the way, Charlie, as we call him now, had no name at the time , but we called him Booger) Later, the announcer told everyone that the auction for the puppy would begin soon. I sat in my chair begging my mom to let me bid on the puppy, but she wouldn't let me! Then Wing Lam offered $1,000 for the puppy. Him and the person he was bidding against (Ironically our friends) went back and forth for the highest bid, but Wing Lam won and got the puppy for $1,300. Much to his disappointment though, he had just moved to a small house on the beach and didn't have the space for a puppy to roam. First he offered it to our friend (The one he was bidding against), but was declined. Then he went to us, and of course we said yes. The only thing we had to do was name him Charlie and let Wing and Kelly (Wings Girlfriend) see him. Now, three months later, we have a happy, healthy, 6 month old Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppy. The moral of this incredibly long story is that Volunteering can do great things to you.

  • Really cute, Mine's called charlie too, I love cavaliers because they are so small, mines fully grown now and still really small.

  • we expect our charlie to stay small too. He was the runt of the litter. I'm not much a fan of fat Cavaliers myself. I just find them more sausagey than companiony if you know what I mean.
