Catherine Hill Bay and its historic jetty are a filmmaker and photographer's paradise for a range of settings, textures and moods. The bay is dominated by the jetty that pierces out from the rocky walls at the southern end of Catherine Hill Bay and offers a stunning mix of natural and industrial beauty.

We arrived in the sleepy village of Catherine Hill Bay just before dawn and broke out the flashlights to scamper over the rock pools to the cover of the jetty as shelter from the looming storm. As dawn broke we could explore the silvered wood and blackend steel of its aging legs as they walked their way out into the bay.

Catherine Hill Bay and its stunning jetty are only 2 hours drive from Sydney and well worth the trip for anyone interested in capturing or soaking up the stunning natural and man-made beauty of the New South Wales east coast.
