Here's a song called "Just A Melody", sung by Vernon Dalhart & Carson Robison, on HMV rec/no EA 147. It was recorded in the last half of the 1920's, and is played on my 1927 HMV 202 re-entrant

  • wow :)

where on earth do you get such great things?!

ive a few wax cylinders, im going to make a usb cylinder recorder in the new year!

  • :)I started collecting back in 1978 when I was 13. My dad bought the 202 for me for xmas when I was 15.

That USB recorder sounds great! Can't wait to hear some transfers.

  • i did an old 78 of ada jones and billy murray called inthe garden (i think) but its very scratchy!

i can post it if youd like to hear?

(as video reply to this video perhaps?!)

  • That would be FAB! I haven't heard that one before, and Ada's one of my favorites (Billy's pretty cool too) I've got qite a few cylinders by them- both solo's and duets. Not much at all though on 78.
