To those who get on the Ben-Hur comments pages trying to peddle their own Christian religious preconceptions, the scripting of this cinematic masterpeice [ Ben-Hur : 1959 ] is not meant to complement and give credence to anyone's religious or philosophical standpoints or beliefs. It is a finely crafted story using accounts and characters from previously known, and famous, accounts and texts, and is a reounding discourse and dynamic which requires independent insight to understand correctly.

Pontius Pilate did exist, so did the Christ, who was put to death by order of Rome only by the religious leaders of that time. The uniforms they people wore in the movie were accurate too. They did a lot of research before making this film and so much love was put into it. There aren't any good actors like these people anymore. I think one fine lady survivors today and that is Easter. She is about 80 years old. You Go GIRL

This is an interesting historical fiction by playwrights who made up a story based around a few facts of history like the existence of Pontius Pilate. Scholars have asked if there is any evidence outside the Bible to support that any of the characters in the Bible really existed or did anything like the Bible stories suggest.
