@sistercheese nah lad a spear is when you lift their legs above the horizontal, which is what you did. a dump is liftin someone legally, so they land on their back

a little 10 minute break to have a drink of water, an orange slice and a little think about how relatively harmless lifting tackles can easily have rather nasty consequences, with just a light change in head/neck position. I'm all for the horizontal dump though, just try not to up-end them.

i think a spear tackle is a dive! Like if i dive off my feet into a tackle, thats a spear! Where as if i lift someone.. like i did.. thats a dump! Thats my understanding anyway..

yeah i agree about diving... but a spear tackle is when you lift him up from the waist, and turn him upside down and then bring him down. a dump is when you lift him and put him down flat. that was an amazing tackle man which school are you in?
