SAVE HELVETIA Eco Jam

Stephanie and Ca'sondra went to Lloyd Center Mall in downtown Portland, Oregon to raise awareness about the urban growth boundaries (UGB) that the city's Metro Council has proposed expanding by about 400,000 acres over farmlands and forests. They gathered signatures of support for the "Save Helvetia" organization to send in to the Metro Council. You can send in a letter of concern by visiting http://www.savehelvetia.org/testimony.php -- you do not need to live in the area to support this cause.

The music is "Maple Leaf Rag" by the Bourbon Street Stompers.

This was a Portland State University "Communication and Sustainability" class Eco Jam!

The guys from System of a Down are really Armenian--I am not. Woody Allen has a joke about Armenian women in one of his movies from the '70's, and I just thought that it would be kind of funny to put that as my country.

P.S. An eco jam is a project to raise awareness about an environmental issue that you care about. We are hoping that people will see our clip video and then go to the Save Helvetia website to either write a letter of support to be sent in to the Metro Council or go to the contact page and send them an email with their name, number, and address to be added to the "Save Helvetia!" petition. It's not a voting issue, so the opinions of people from all over the world do count.

Ya, Helvetia is west of Portland on the north side of Hwy 26, it's on your right when you're driving to the coast.

well i think this is a fabulious video and i give you A+ i was actually searching for any vids at the helvetia tavern in the small town of helvatia going out towards the coast is that what yr refferring to when u say helvetia? and what is eco jam? either way cool vid i like the lloyd mall clips i use too work at hot topic in that mall ill be up in june i cant wait i miss portland soooo much i miss oregon i live in texas now but will move my family back there eventually i hope....keep in touch ok
