Man at his kiosk plays Xi'an's traditional musical instrument: the Tao Xun. A clay-based flute with 8 finger holes with a variety of etched motifs ranging from pandas to lotus flowers.

  • It is awesome! I had 3 of 'em initially but one broke in transit on my flight back home. Xi'An is a beautiful place and the CouchSurfers I'd met there were one of the best!

  • Thankyou for posting this up! Two years ago I went to china and bought one, except I never tried playing it - or at least, I did at first, but I wasn't sure if I was doing it right, and I wanted to hear the man play it again so I could remember what it was supposed to sound like. Today, I decided to youtube it and this is what I found! So thankyou for that! I'm going to give it a go now!
