  • @gigimaschile My friend, Giovanni Antonini is the director of the great Il Giardino Armonico. Conducting Baroque music can differ quite radically from modern conducting for deep reasons. The Baroque culture is just so distinct from our time that the cultural expressions might seem strange.

I personally find romanticized Baroque music very disturbing. But I'm impressed how the world's top symphony orchestra can produce such an authentic performance. This has to do with the direction of Antonini!

  • Qualität nicht Quantität.

  • @DuduKorg

Giovanni Antonini was born in 1965 ;)

  • Es ist eine warlich schöne Komposition doch mir ist es etwas zu widerholen .. eintönig

  • Antonini is conducting as a monkey.. What a strange solution: so a bad conductor with so a fine orchestra!

  • It's always interesting to hear chamber music played by a scaled - down symphony orchestra esp one as great as the Beliner Philharmoniker. However doing so places the performers in some VERY illustrious (chamber orchestra) company indeed soooo I'm always left with the question: does this music really need a conductor?

  • I suppose Bach would rather enjoy to listen to these guys

  • @DuduKorg ...yes, some get grey with twenty-five....but the music is much older

  • @BerlinPhil Thank you ;)
