The final slideshow for 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines. The slideshow is dedicated to Mission Hills Christian School for all the donations and support they gave to the Marines and the Afghan people. Photos were taken by Sgt. Christopher Rye and Cpl. Brice Sparks with 1st Marine Division Combat Camera. 2/1 deployed to Garmsir, Afghanistan from October 2010 to May 2011. During the 7 month deployment, 2/1 provided superior security and Millions in humanitarian aid. Being deployed to southern Helmand province, 2/1 encountered and eliminated more IED's than any military unit ever recorded within the country. Ooh Rah, Semper Fi.

  • Ooh Rah and Semper Fi Young Bro's. I served in F 2/1 and H&S 2/1 from 79-83, stationed at Horno on Pendleton. Your contribution to the Nation and the Unit honors us ALL. 30 years later, I am proud as hell to have been in 2/1. You will be too. Whoever posted this Thank You. Cpl J. E. Hart, Old Grunt.
