Mayor Ardis challenged the city of Peoria to 40 Days of Prayer in 2007. Here are some of the results our great city saw as a result of the unity shown.
This has become an annual event and has spawned an off-shoot (Push for Peace Peoria) which continues the prayer movement every week of the year. Please check out our website (www.pushforpeacepeoria.org) to see how you can get involved.
We're also looking for sponsors for the big Civic Center Prayer Event!
I pray several times daily. I am always on the go and doing something constructive and positive. I may be dying, but I will keep moving as long as I can get my oxygen tank refilled. I am physically disabled but I refuse to use one of those power chairs. I am better than that. You need to become acquainted with more people like me before we become extinct.

Prayer alone will not work. Faith without works is dead. Prayer is good, but people must also get up and put forth an effort. Prayer won't do much for the lazy and shiftless.

This is a prime example of what the U.S. was intended to be, an example worth following. Life is short, and we need to focus on the things that really matter, on the things that are eternal. All the pleasures and sins of this world are very short lived, but the things of the kingdom are the only eternal investments.
