I first accidentally stumbled onto these guys way back in 1974 collaborating along with other artist on the Classic LP Peter and the Wolf... I truly forgot how Fricken great these guys are!!!

This music is so full of life. It makes other so called 'jazz' seem stuffy dull, unoriginal & cliched.
Maybe this is the true jazz !

Since I live on a planet - or in a culture, rather - that fails to value true greatness in music, it's only now that I'm discovering the genius sounds of Brand X. Have heard them mentioned as being Phil's "side project" for years, but these cats stand on their own beside Weather Report, Return to Forever, Mahavishnu O. and the best prog rockers. Thx for posting, music!

LOVE this BAND!

This band was INCREDIBLE..!
I was lucky and saw them a few times in the late 70's in NYC(bottom line) and at Stony Brook University on Long Island.
Also saw the newer Brand X in the 80's in San Jose, CA..
All AWESOME shows!!
RIP Morris Pert..!! I always loved this guys stage set...!

FYI
The pics are from Knebworth England which was a large day long festival with headliner Genesis during the time of the album "And then there were Three", Brand X opened the day,I know I was there
If you look above the stage you will see some large black octagonal shapes, these were giant mirrors that moved and were used by Genesis to focus various lights and laser beams they used in their light show.
Phil didn't play with Brand X that day, just Genesis, the festival was great

Percy Jones - BASS GENIUS!
Beautiful song from a truly great band,
Masques - the greatest british fusion lp ever released!

Thats John Giblin on Wal Pro bass in the shots not Percy Jones...and the Shergold Custom Double is a 12 /6 guitar rather than Rutherford's 12/4 Modulator Demountable guitar/bass.
Cheers Mike Marshall
