Me playing Toto's Africa on the Prophet '08 through the Korg miniKP. A dual brass patch with 4 note polyphony. Nothing great but enjoy it anyway. Read more in Shepit.blogspot.com

  • Great Job man!! you're way too hard on yourself with the scrolling comments btw, a couple bum notes here and there takes nothing away, it just means you're human! Some great jazz legend once said "you can miss a note, just don't miss the meaning" ! -You got the meaning my friend- : )

  • @fireglow2012 Thank you!! ;)

  • A huge thanks to everyone for nice comments!!!

    Glad you enjoy the video.

  • Okay, you just sold my soul into desiring a Prophet 08...very, very, sexy.

  • ...speaking of selling.

I never really clicked with it. I sold it 2 months ago...

  • Why do you think it's "Lame"? We all hit clunkers sometimes! Nice playing and that sound! Pure analog bliss! Thanks for sharing.

  • Superb playing. Synth is good but I was impressed at how well you did the tune !

  • I wouldn't call your efforts Lame man. you did a great job brother :)

  • This is definitly my favourite prophet demo on youtube.

  • This is really good dude, I enjoyed it very much. It's always nice to see someone actually play something like this instead of f***ing with knobs and making weird noises. I think youtube needs more demos of synths actually being played rather than being toyed with. To many people out there don't take them seriously or even think of them as real instruments because of that. Thanks again!!!

  • beautiful synth! your playing is fantastic!

  • Gorgeous rendition.

  • I remember driving in Zimbabwe and playing this song with my other American friend in the car. Great memories of Africa. You played it very well and the Prophet 08 sounds great.

  • @grondo2001 I've heard this from many people. I think its a good basic analog synth but if you are used to the old school sound it can be unsatisfying and there are some other missing features. I decided to go with a juno 60 instead though much more limited.

  • Well done!

    Nice Patch, and playing.
