These are my brand new Trixon cocktail drums in Tobacco Fade lacquer finish. It took me FOREVER (more than 4 months) to get these from Jim Laabs Music in Wisconsin, which is the only place you can get them new. They said there were some importing problems at Customs. But, the drums are as advertised. Very nice instruments for the money.

  • Sounds great! Thanks for sharing.

  • I just uploaded a video of our band using the Trixon cocktail set. Stagger Lee The Claytones Changed the Skins to Remo Amassador, padded the bass up a tad. Not original symbols... Sounds great..

  • @slapbassrockabilly Sounds great! Thanks for sharing.

  • This is _no_ Trixon!

Trixon was a german company, this one comes from Asia...

  • @Stockverlierer Exactly right. I'm well aware of the history of Trixon drums, as are most drum purists. However, these guys bought the rights to the name so we still have to call it Trixon, and that's what the badge on the side says. Doesn't change my review on this kit. This is a nice set of Asian-made, Trixon-named, cocktail drums.

  • Nice. Thinking about getting a set of these.I could be wrong, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say you used to be a drumline guy. Just a hunch. Nice job man!

  • @hyedrum Haha! Guilty as charged, although it's been many a year! I appreciate the comment!

  • man i wan't to get one of these! i don't want to get some terrible crappy one, but i really don't have the cash to spend $1000 on one. blarg

  • Nice kit! I bought Dimavery Cocktailkit, theyre amazing, i reskinned with Pin strips added a Gretsch black hawk snare .Im gigging in a Club show with them , I sing as well and do most of the lead Vox . Playing stand up drums was a learning Curve, your bass drum technique has to be relearned due to balancing on the other leg , Ii almost stand across the pedal and flick it , works great ,also I attached the Snare ,Hats and crash to a seprate cymbal stand to get a more ergonomic playing position.

  • @drumstudent81 The two drums would definitely fit inside. I would also think you could get all of the hardware in there too. I haven't tried it of course, but the main drum is pretty big.
