this knot is good for use with anything that requires movement to make it look like bait (perfect for jig heads and some lures)

it is a variation of the perfection loop knot. I use the perfection loop for fishing on 2lb test and it is fast to set up and you can control the size of the loop.

Er, thats not fishermans knot...A fishermans knot is much easier to tie and tightens onto the hook, not leaving a loose like the knot shown here.

Almost like "Russian bowline" knot

This is a perfection loop. You've just tied it in a different manner.

This is an acceptable method when you have a rope, but trying to tie it on a fishing line by threading, as this method requires, is more difficult than just a standard perfection loop.

Search for "Perfection Loop" on YouTube for an easier way to tie this loop.
