Btw, me saying that many people make wrong dicisions, doesn't mean I don't want anything to change. Ofcourse I'd like to see global recycling of this plastic instead of it being dumped. But I'm just pointing out that a lot of "scientificly" prove things about climate change or this trash island just isn't true.

I'm not talking about the hole in the ozone layer. I'm talking specificly about this so called trash "island" which makes that part of your comment irrelivant. It seems we DO need scare tactics to get people to move. The problem is however, that the people are being forced into the wrong/ineffective direction: hybrid cars or fully electric cars. So in the end, we're not better off in the long run.

in my opinion the scariest part is that some people aren't scared

thats not a scare tactic or a lie, what about the hole we caused in the ozone above antarctica? and the 7 billion people increasingly dependent on fossil fuels and alternative energy that isn't keeping up but is hopefully on track. Like i said we don't need "scare tactics" because all the fear we need is already naturally built into the situations it comes from. we just need the truth. climate change is a natural cycle but massive man made ozone holes and constant pollution and waste are not

its the scare tactic which works for a short time. thats the problem with most people in that business: shortsightness. Its like saying we cause climate change. but we all know (or should know) that its a natural cycle which can not and should not be stopped. its only still a debate if we add to it. different problem but same rules apply: they lie to get to us.

Exactly, which I don't understand... the truth alone should be enough to scare people. Instead of a few people spreading lies many people need to spread the truth.

Oh that's deffinately true. But this is just plain lying which is just wrong. If they're trying to make a difference by making people aware of something, tell the truth. Otherwise, how should we know that what they say is true in the future? Why should we believe them?
It's the same thing with scientists saying the large glaciers will be gone in 20 years. That turned out to be false because they fiddled with the numbers to scare people.

I'm just saying that particles in the water is terrible no matter what, even if there is no island
