@docjimbob i was thinking the same thing. but i like this system much better. just curious, where would you put the anchor when not in use and its in the boat?

Why not just put the float on the other side of the carabiner?

Nice solution, but a little convoluted with the figure-9 carabiner. Why don't you just loop the anchor line through the trolley carabiner and then secure with a cam. Much faster release and works with the float. It can be undone no matter where your anchor is. Check out some of the other anchor trolley vids here and you'll see what I'm talking about. Better solution than the figure 9.

This is great stuff to learn before you tip into the water. Thanks as I hate learning the hard way which for me is the usual way...LoL
Not sure what you mean docjimbob. Are you talking about if I had a cam cleat? (Which I do now)

Caleqs, I have the setup on another kayak you are talking about. I know it's more common and is an easier release. I use the method with the figure 9 because the deck of the Scrambler is so narrow with no flat surfaces that when the anchor is at the front the taught line between the cleat and the carabiner runs into the gps and fishfinder. I just thought I would post a different option.
