This was infact a real event which was covered by 5 camera crews who just happened to be in the supermarket at the time.

oh please. spare me your sophistry. the specific law that has been passed simply denies a parents right to use 'undue force' to discipline their child. that you and so many others insist on interpreting it as somehow a denial of parental freedoms says much about why nz is such a violent little parochial backwater.

so the premise of the ad is.. the only solution to disobedience is physical abuse and that is being unfairly denied. well that's profound.
at least profound in it's lack of imagination for viable alternatives. u go u good thing!

The ad is dealing with a specific law that has been passed that restricts parent's options. Nowhere does it say that smacking (or what you appear to be refering to as physical abuse) is the only solution to disobedience.
