she is actually correct',...you can say both siji or shifu for taxi-driver. it is a slang term that is in common use. Shi-fu is also used, of course in a different way for wu-shu kung-fu.

But I still contend that she has a slight French accent to her English. Perhaps she studied in France and learned her English there.

no, I think it's all chinese. My mom has friends that speak just like that at the beginning. It's just really strong.
