From the "Sings In Church For Missions" album. Doris is great on piano, as usual ;-) Doug Moody on organ.

I'm going to live so that God can use me;
Anytime, anywhere...
Yes, I'm going to live so that the Lord can use me
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere!

You know the devil would be glad if he could make me fall
And I'm not the only one who, he would like to trick us all
So children keep on praying, stay on the firing line
And let the Lord keep using you, keep serving God full time

I'm going to live so that the Lord can use me
Anytime, anywhere...
Yes, I'm going to live so that the Lord can use me
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere!

You know the Lord has given to us a special job to do
So let us not abuse it, oh, but keep on pressing through
We can't be defeated, nor can we be deceived
Satan has a lot of power, but God can set us free!

I'm going to live so that the Lord can use me
Anytime, anywhere....
Yes, I'm going to live so that the Lord can use me
Anytime, anyplace, anywhere

I'm gonna sing so that the Lord can use me,
Anytime, anywhere...
Oh, I'm going to sing so that the Lord can use me,
Anytime, anyplace, anytime, anyplace, anytime, anyplace, anywhere!

  • @CannTankerous Oops, I forgot the last album was after Shirley Mays had passed. They changed the name to "The Day Of Rejoicing Choir". Pastor Raculia's daughter, Joann had taken over the choir, and her husband, Jerry played keyboards. My sister and both parents were in the choir, as well as my brother-in-laws and their parent's. Shirley was my sister Debbie's mother-in-laws (Betty Croley) niece. It was never the same after Shirley left us though.

  • @CannTankerous P.S. My family has several copies of the last two Sky Pilot Choir albums with Shirley Mays in vinyl, and disc. Someone was asking about them in another post.

  • @ErickaHanger Hello, My name is Don, and my family attended Buena Park Community Church from 1972 to late '75. Joseph was Pastor Raculia's first name. He passed away Dec. 26, 2006. I found his Obit. in the OC Register. Shirley was a wonderful, talented person. She passed away during the time we attended in the '70's, not the late '60's as was noted elsewhere. It was very sad. I will tell you of it if you wish.

  • Karma342...sorry for what must have felt abandonment to you--have had computer issues which have been solved--I would LOVE to hear from you, Linda !

  • 1962 Doris Akers on piano and Doug Moody on organ~! (not sure about that date...) anybody??

  • Okay another one that I MUST LEARN TO PLAY AND SING, this is rockin!

  • I was 9 years old when I attended the dedication of Glad Tidings Temple, Vancouver, BC when Doris Akers directed the Choir and I have never been the same since~!

  • @gospelthang I was fortunate enough to attend the dedication service of Glad Tidings Temple, Vancouver, BC Canada, in 1962, when I was first introduced to this supremely blessed-by-God musician for His Glory--her music rings in my ears and in my heart...always~! see you over Jordan, Doris~! I cannot wait to meet you~!

  • @crd411 I have a feeling that Doug Moody accompanied Doris on the Hammond Organ at our church, Glad Tidings Temple--this album was produced for the express purpose of benefiting our church's missions program

  • Doug Moody was the music director I grew up with and he impacted an entire generation. I took piano lessons from his brother Dave. He went home to be with the Lord last December. He will be missed, but his legacy is still played and sung everywhere.
