Ekjut Film

The results of Ekjut Trial has been published by the Lancet on the International Womens Day ( 8th March 2010)
Ekjut ( an India based organisation) collaborated with Institute of Child Health London and evaluated the impact that the womens groups made. The newborn deaths reduced by an impressive 45 % and post natal depression by 57%.
Ekjut initiative is an approach of community mobilisation involving womens group members.
A trained facilitator from the local villages facilitated monthly group meetings- taking the
members through a process of prioritising problems, understanding causes and effects and
finding solutions for action in solving maternal and newborn health problems.
