here's a very fitting piece of Swiss Yodel Cowboy Kitsch from 1965 for you on this April fool's day. Normally I wouldn't consider this kind of song valid yodel practice, but I'll make an exception for Peter Hinnen, since he is the original author of my favorite Kuku-Jodel.

Do you come from a German background? I first heard yodeling at a German event held by a Schuhplattler (not sure if the spelling is correct) group in Cleveland and I've loved it ever since then! That was back in high school. Since I just went to my 40th high school reunion, you KNOW how long I've loved yodeling! My best friend since 1967 has been a Schuhplattler dancer all her life.

yes, I am German. I lived in and around München (=Munich) for almost half a century.

I just can't stop listening to this! You're really really GOOD! How long have you known how to yodel? I tried to yodel once and my husband told not to ever do that again in his presence. I do love listening to yodeling and even though I don't think I'll ever be able to do it very well, I enjoy doing it when our weird neighbors are visiting their barn next to our property. Makes them leave fast. :-D

I started to practice yodelling about 3 years ago, when I heard Melanie Oesch doing her Kuku-Jodel.

I said to my husband: 'I want to be able to do this' - he laughed and said: 'yeah, right....'

I keep my windows closed while yodeling, I think it sounds better that way.

As far as bursting into laughter goes - I can't laugh while I'm trying to concentrate on traffic and yodel at the same time ;)

That was excellent! It's also something I would do, except that I can't yodel or sing very well ! Were the windows open in your car as you drove along yodeling? I love Peter Hinnen!
