  • Doesn't anyone GET what's going on here ?

All the damn news stations are running the same sound bytes.

    It's OWNED.

    YOU are owned.

    WAKE UP.

  • Propaganda methods of inversion

  • why is this important? obama has 4 years this didnt happen when bush was elected republicans on tv are pathetic and the ones off tv that let them dictate ther thinking are as well

  • In 1983 your B grade actor president deregulated banks to the extent of total control. Thus we had to endure the greed is good 80's and greed is the best 90's. Well look at you now. Wake up dickhead and read some history.

  • our government uses crisis as excuse to dictate agenda. Look at the bailout, the government forced many of the banks to buy up bad assets and sell them to Fanny mae and freddy mac. Then they collapsed and caused our current situation. Now everyone thinks socialism is the answer when in fact it was the government that caused this problem. If we keep going down this road its going to be just like George Orwell's 1984. If you haven't read it I suggest you do.

  • What it boils down to is a completely free market would be like a highway with no speed limit, socialism is a highway with stop signs every 100 feet. You need some government control to maintain safety like our existing system. However the ideal government should only add stop sign(laws) when absolutely neccessary. When governments create to many laws and too much control it stiffles the economy and take away peoples freedoms. The problem we have run into in todays world is

  • I'll grant that capitalism is 'intuitive,' but I don't know if 'natural' is the right term for it.

And I agree communism has fundamental flaws which make it as much a failure as naive capitalism, but I think the most successful economy will be a hyrbrid of socialist and capitalist principles, which sounds paradoxical on the face but is actually quite possible.

  • If that is what everyone believes then I guess it has. Capitalism is the only natural way an economy can work. People ultimately do what is best for themselves not what is best for their neighbors. That is why communism and socialism have always and will always fail. Why should you work hard so your lazy neighbor can get all the benefits of your work?

  • capitalism failed dumbass. In with the republic
