  • This Tesla Model S car hasn't received nearly enough press coverage.

All you hear about is the Ford Focus, Cadillac CTS Coupe, Buick Regal and GMC Granite (most of which I don't understand at all) , yet this car is far more interesting and compelling than any of those in just about every respect.

  • Production version will have the door handles come out once it detects the key within close proximity. The handles will be out well before you get to the door.

  • @ned262626 They will pay it back the DOE loan just like Solyndra will...oh wait.

  • @JCompany8 Cadillac does a great job, but horrible inaccurate stereotypes are still fueled by Americans ourselves..FIsker Karma is another great vehicle..You have to look at the price range's also

  • @barreltrollololol except it doesnt cost 100k. Its

    160 mile pack $57,400

230 mile pack add about $10,000

300 mile pack add another $10,000

and a battery swap takes less than 2 minutes.

Where the hell did you get your information from?

  • @barreltrollololol the EPA mileage will not be laboratory controlled, it should as close as you can get to real life. As for the batteries, they do go bad overtime, but batteries have been getting cheaper every year for the past 25 years... I don't see why the pattern would reverse now.

  • Tesla Motors, announced that his electric car company "will build a high-performance version of the Model S that will go zero to 60 (mph) in 4.5 seconds. That's faster than a Porsche 911 Carrera."

  • finally, an american car company we can be proud of

  • @moaski It's because Ford, Cadillac, Buick, GMC doesn't cost over 100K for a car you can only charge at your home and has only a 100 mile range. The max you can travel in the tesla is 50 miles so you can make the round trip back with the other 50.

But lets face it, 100 mile is laboratory controlled numbers. It's a sporty looking car and you're gonna give it some throttle and not granny it like a toyota prius. Not to mention Lithium battery goes bad over time, so extra money for replacement.

  • I haven't heard much of either of those cars you listed. Neither have I heard much about the Tesla Model S. But then again, I don't watch much TV or read automobile magazines too often. All I hear about is what surrounds me. And what surrounds me is alot of balogny.

  • The Tesla Model S can go 300 Miles on a single Charge. It gets $.02 cents a mile, $6.75 to Fully Charge. Electric Vehicles get 150 Miles Per Gallon. That's 5X's the MPG of a regular gasoline vehicle.

  • @tnguyen318 The Chevorlet vehicle does have the gas engine which adds weight
