Anyone that knows how the adjacent telephone cables looked and what the raillway sleepers were made of back in the 1970s is invited to PM me so my suspicions can be confirmed or disproved.
Sheez.... I'm almost 100% sure this is the very footbridge I occasionally used to get on to watch M1 trains passing by in the years 1975-1978 (haven't lived in NYC since then and haven't been back there since).
These (concrete?) railway sleepers don't seem to have been there in the 1970s; I think the originals were timber and the adjacent telephone cables (?) probably have been replaced as well.
