Look around the former concession area and Haihe Square in Tianjin, China, which is a 30 minute trainride from Beijing. See more at www.thechinachronicles.com

  • great video, China has some beautiful colonial areas, my favorite that i visited was Gulangyu island in Xiamen, I also think Macau and Shanghai have very nice colonial areas too, i hope i will have a chance to see Tianjin on day, it is a shame Hong Kong has lost a lot of the colonial area buildings.

  • Thanks! Macau's and Shang's colonial areas are more developed than Tianjin (inside some of those buildings look like they're occupied by squatters, with little adequate plumbing and electricity), but hopefully over time it'll become an even more impressive city centre. Would love to visit Gulangyu someday!
