So what took you so long? This post has been up for 4 years or so. I kept thinking where are all the buttrockers who would like to post a "I HATE GOTHS" message. About time you showed up.

Show me a really unique or creative goth or goth oriented band today. None of this Night Wish or Paradise Lost stuff, wouldn't have happned with out bands lke Celtic Frost or Dead Can Dance, which are two that have been ripped off endlessly by loads in the goth or goth metal, scenes today. My Dying Bride wasn't even around when I was listening to DCD or Frost back in the eighties, now there are tons of bands doing the same shit.

You're quite wrong with those examples. Most of goth bands like Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division,The Cure, Bauhaus and many many others came long before CF(1984) and DCD(1981). Even Clan of Xymox started in 1981. So, they could not influence goth bands in the way you're saying. Well, maybe CF did influence death metal and goth metal bands, but DCD...don't think so
