If Magnet can create electricity in a coil of wire, so can electricity in a coil create magnet in the metal which can be attracted...

wd40 is magnetic i discovered this and will put it on yourtube. put a can of wd40 near a magnets and the magnet will spin

Why doesn't it just create a short in the circuit? I would think it would be moving the electrons as fast as it could from the Negative to the Positive lead, cause friction on the wire, making it really hot.?

the wire warms up and what you say is true, the batteries will drain alot faster but it will still work as an electromagnet

Lite, I mean light, is not electricity. They are both energy, but in different forms. So, you are right, light does not make magnets, electricity does.
