amy, billie and dinah r quite similar... they died quite young and the major cause was: drugs and alcohol. its so sad to see so many jazz legends die at a very young age. the three will never be forgotten!

There aren't any real singers around these days.
I mean the singers who could just stand there in the spotlight without any flashing lights,no dancing girls or boys,no gyrating just singing.....
Have a look at Edith Piaf or Sarah Vaughn or Ella Fitzgerald....Sinatra.Bennett,
Haymes.... all they ever did was sing....that's all and that was enough.

love the looks, presence of these jazz, R&B female performers back then, bigger women who exuded sexuality..not fitting in with today's standard of beauty of sex appeal...except maybe Queen Latifah..who is also quite an exceptional talent; she can sing almost anything..but Dinah was the complete performer...unique voice, looks, moves...love her
