If you want to protect yourself from catching the flu in your own home, Trane might be able to help. First-of-its-kind research on removing flu virus conducted by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health, in collaboration with scientists at Environmental Health and Engineering Inc., (EH&E) shows that Trane CleanEffects, a whole-house air filtration system from Trane Air Conditioning, removes more than 99 percent of the common flu virus, or influenza A virus from the filtered air.
There are so many people either saying they love or they hate these Trane Clean Effects air cleaners that I don't know who to believe. I'm installing two Clean Effects units in my home and my installer is giving me a 12 month full refund period where they will remove them and refund my money if I don't like them to get me past my concerns from all of the random reviews. We'll see what happens...

I have a CleanEffects in my home. I love it. I have sold and installed hundreds. My customers LOVE these. I have only had one customer that didn't like it. I think he is was of those people you can never satisfy.

This is garbage. I paid an extra $2000 and I still have dust and asthma related issues. I tested it out with one week running it and then one week without the filters in and there was no difference. Had it cleaned by a "technician" and still no difference. Bad product. White plastic collection cells? It's corrugated plastic. I could make those with a glue stick and a pair of scissors. Just a bad product. Period.

To clean the Cleaneffects white plastic collection cells you need a common small electric low water pressure home pressure cleaner. Blowing them with a vacuum or leaf blower dosnt work well. I love my Cleaneffects air cleaner but it does require a small pressure cleaner to clean it well every 6 months, so be warned. =)

again..you're full of shit, I've sold ALOT of these to homeowners, and never ever has one person said take it out, I don't like it. I have one installed in my own home and never sneeze or get sick from pollen or dust. The air quality is about 8 times better than a 1" throw away..these are the best on the market- just ask Harvard, or the AHA...go to conusmer reports (if you have a membership) and see what people really think. You are VERY wrong.

negative. The CADR on the american standard version is higher than any other whole home air cleaner on the market today, including the lennox pure air. (clean air delivery rate)
