Mozart on Shamisen. 津軽三味線でモーツァルト!

Tsugaru shamisen is a 3-stringed lute from northern Japan traditionally played fast and aggressively with a large plectrum called a "bachi." There is no tradition of counterpoint or vertical harmony on this instrument yet! After hearing this, I'm willing to believe Mozart wrote it specifically for the Tsugaru-jamisen.

This and Turkish March are hands down the best Mozart shamisen pieces so far.

Mike where did you learn to play the Shamisen?? Its a beautiful instrument and I heard its really hard to learn.

I used to play the banjo, but I never had any ability for it. Now I mostly play the flute.
