For those oldies (a.k.a 'goli sodas' in Tamil) who keep cribbing that the traditional music is left to tatters after their generation can safely shut up!
Carnatic music is eternal and it transcends the fads of the contemporaries. It explores melodies like no other system of music (as demonstrated by this 13 year young kid here). Due to its inherent disposition towards improvisation, the nuances are only limited by the creativity of the performer.
Awesome job AV. Looking forward to hear more !

@saig2007 I applaud your optimism and respect for the younger generation. I am not sure if I can join with you in putting down the older generation. For me that would lack Para-maTa-bahumaanam.

This musician is south Indian music's Mozart! Her Thodi has the maturity of our three maestros combined: TN Krshnan, Lalgudi, and MS Goplaakrshnan mixed with Professor N Rajam's love of long sustained tones (Deergha Viraama Gamakam). May Shree MahaSarasvati Bless this musical Pratibha always!!

This is straight out of TN Krishnan's standard thodi alapana. It si one thing to emulate great gurus like him. But, one has to be creative in Alapanas. Not that I am running down. But, I think artists have certain responsibility. The person is young as she grows will fulfill the promise one hopes. Good luck to her.

I am Aishu's Paternal Grandfather. Aishu's original lessons were with my wife who was a Violin teacher. When my departed for her heavenly home, I thought music has left my family. Happy my darling girl retained it.
