On April 19, 1995, Charlie Hanger made a routine traffic stop that ended with the arrest of Timothy McVeigh, who was later charged, convicted and executed for the bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building. Hanger began his nearly 30 year career with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol as a dispatcher in 1972, and served in a variety of roles, including Field Supervisor to Troop-K and supervisor for the Special Operations Troop assigned to the Criminal Interdiction Unit. In January 2005, Hanger began a new law enforcement career as the Sheriff of Noble County.
