There is no constitutional right to keep and bear automobiles. Registration of firearms makes confiscation of firearms possible. New York City started out with registration and ended up with a virtual ban on privately owned firearms.

Just like an automobile? As I recall I did not have to explain a reasoning for wanting a drivers license when I took the test. I got it because I wanted it. The same reason that I should get a pistol permit (carry permit). Because I want one. It's my constitutional right and I feel it is my moral obligation to protect my family.

He is suggesting that OWNING a gun is analogous to DRIVING a car on public highways. You don't need a license to own a car (or to drive it on your own private property or the private property of another if he gives you permission). The analogy is false! Name a single state were you need a license to OWN a car.
