Tigers are there so you don't go into areas you're not prepared to go into.

They can only be killed from afar with a Bow 'n Arrow. It's possible to attack them with a Survival Knife if you know how to attack and back up a bit and repeat, but they're invincible from your knife. So Bow 'n Arrows are the way to go... and you can't get the supplies to make a Bow until you've gone to another area... which is the cave you were in before.

I got this on GOG a long time ago, played for a little, died, and gave up.

Recently I've wanted to give it a proper chance so I've read up a little on it and decided to look for videos so hopefully I'll be playing along with you pretty soon if you keep playing.
