Domestic violence - Ignoring the victims

It seems that one cannot escape the women first (forget that, it's women only) attitude towards domestic violence in the media. In this video I ask the question. If only a tiny amount of men suffer from domestic violence (I know it's a lot more, but humour me here) then why are these men undeserving of our helps and mention?

this guy is telling the truth. i was a batterd husbend and the reason i took it was that she told me no one would beleve me, the sad part is she was right. the laws are totley agenst men she used the law to take my child away. its like being raped and told that you dezerved it. i want to start a mens rights group and i need hellp to do it so come on guys lets get it started.

I agree with you. I think the general view society has is that men should just man up and take it. Or no one would believe them and even feel oppressed. I think the numbers would be higher than women statistics if the cases were actually reported. Sadly most cases that happen to men are NOT reported. Thank you for speaking up and speaking out.

2%??? There is alot more men who suffer from Abuse from there partner then women! It's just men are shamed by society, and unbelieved, so it's all hidden numbers. All social experiments show that people will run to the aid of a woman who's being hit by a man..but a man who is publically hit by a woman are laughed at. No aid is given to him. Y? Many people admit they thing the men deserve it when they see a woman hitting them, yet they don't know the truth as to Y a woman is hitting him

You hear about women because women have spoken out. More men who have been victims of domestic violence should also speak out.

If it was a worldwide estimate then I do believe 1 in 4 women have been the victim of domestic violence. In some countries it is not taboo for men to hit their wives or worse. Supporting battered women should have nothing to do with oppressing battered men, or the other way around. A victim of domestic violence is a victim of domestic violence, whether they are a man or a woman.
