@YesOuiSi Greetings! I knew John Grell and still keep in touch occasionally through facebook. If you still have any of those Vinyl recordings, I would love to have a copy for myself. If you want to spare two copies, I know a guy who has a HUGE vinyl collection (about 55,000) who would appreciate a copy also. And Yes! We both have working turntables to actually play the record once in a while. e.mail me at: olivierthewineguy@gmail.com Thanks!
The long overdue official Heyoka LP is coming in 2012 on ShroomAngel Records label. Find ShroomAngel Records on facebook and become a fan, lots of info, photos, and giveaways.
I remember I was such a groupie. My friend Michelle Polk babysat for the sound and lighting tech, I remember his name was Jeff. He lived in Meadow Village. He was a cool guy. We got to go to every show. He also set us up at the airmens club at Lackland AFB spinning records. Those were some good times. I don't know why Heyoka was never signed, they were really good. Happy to find them on Youtube.
I grew up next door to John, I talk to him every so often. He's out in LA selling yachts in Marina Del Rey. He's on the Facebook under Jonathan Grell. Truly an awesome guy and a great friend.
I have some records from 1981 - John Grell with a band called Liquid Sky ... the song: "Cry For the King". 99.5 KISS FM homegrown compilation. If ya see this john and want a sealed copy of the album, I'll mail you one..I found several of these sealed records with some old stuff I'd packed away and i'm emailing all the bands. I don't want any money , I only ask if you still have a good recording of that track then please let the other folks who may of lost their copy over the years claim one.
How well I remember, I saw them on TV in San Antonio and ironically it was after I had seen the movie Crossroads, No not the one with Brittney Spears either, it was where Steve Vai played in, I also remember seeing the background as well. I'll be home soon and maybe it will be my turn after all these years

I took lessons from Jonathan Grell when i was like 11 years old. I remember I switched to another teacher because his lessons were too hard for me!
