CITY HUNTER & T-SQUARE / シティーハンター & T-スクェア: 『MR. MELLOW』

If there was any TV anime that captured the suave style of the '80s, it would have to be City Hunter, hands down. Ryo Saeba is not only a slick sharpshooter, but a smooth sailor with the ladies. Using footage from season 2 of City Hunter 1, and both seasons of City Hunter 2, we're hoping that this AMV will capture the lonesome, urban cool that City Hunter portrays through Saeba's exploits.

You guys may not believe this, but this is my FIRST AMV using ripped footage. My brother was really the go-to guy in helping me rip a lot of this into the computer, especially when it came down to finding suitable programs that could convert MPEG files to AVI files, so thank you Quinn!! You were a big help and I couldn't have done this without ya! ^__^

And yes, for all you japanese jazz fusion fans, the music featured here is crafted by those well-respected chaps known as T-SQUARE (or The Square), and you'll find lots of their live performances all over YouTube. The song here is entitled "Mr. Mellow", from their 1988 album "Yes, No". Please comment, rate, and, most of all, enjoy the coolness from City Hunter & T-Square.

Certain frames in the anime really bring out Hojo's drawing style, the matchless form he makes the body. Bring me back to high school again, his art was something I desperately wanted to duplicate. Glad to meet more of his fans. :)

T-Square makes great music. It's too bad we don't have them in the U.S., because they really are wonderful. Japanese music fans should be proud that they've helped to proliferate such good music like the stuff coming from these guys. I'm glad you liked the video ^__^

Thanks for posting. City Hunter was and still is an amazing anime. Your AMV shows clips from some of my favorite episodes. Bloody Mary, Robert, Silver Fox, Saeko, and the scene with Umibozu's date were excellent choices. Also, "MR. MELLOW" by T-SQUARE along with the originality of City Hunter shows how smooth the late 80's were.
